Look who got all fancy…and decent finally.
Silly exhibitionist.

Well miss Laurel got Target fancy, which seems pretty fancy to me at $20 (what!) for a lampshade. New stuff is pricey!

What you may notice is that this lampshade is FANCY enough to be lined in motherf*ing gold. I would say it is both Classy and Chic.

Also, TARGET. Wowzer.

It has been more than two months since I’ve been to a Target and its seriously all the EXACT same stuff. They haven’t updated with any new and interesting inventory for what seems to be a long time. I wonder why? All recession related? There were a lot of shoppers filling up carts…but then again I do live in a podunk town that may not be the hippest spot for merchandise.

Also, please tell me Target, why do you only have two registers open when there are 25 people in line (some of which have very very naughty children that love to scream, step on my feet and hit customers with toys)? And NO, mother in front of me arguing over the price of “Manwich” with a barely literate check out clerk. Your kids are NOT cute. They are horrible and you are even more horrible. Stop telling me how cute your spawn is when they hit me.

Just because we both have uterus’s does not make us friends.

Touching base

Looks like we got ourselves a little project a-brewing!

I sold the old dining room tulip chairs in order to fund the purchase of six brand spanking new Eiffel bases. I picked them up today and couldn’t be happier.

I found a well priced source via ebay that was AMAZINGLY located just about an hour away from The Brick House. Instead of paying for shipping I just drove over and picked up a set of six black Eiffel bases. They sellers seem like a nice small business that manufactures all sorts of different styles of Eames bases including a selection of wide mounts, rockers, cats cradle and other bent wire based furniture products.

The WEIRDEST thing was that this Ebay seller was located right across the street from my family’s recently defunct boat business. *SPOOKY*

At least I got to stop by and say hello to my mom.

This set is going to be so f*ing awesome.

A little wet sanding, shock mount repositioning and Penetrol rub down and we should be in business.

*BTW*

Posting will probably be very lite round the old Brick House bloggity. Buying chair bases is how I just spent my one day off of work this week…and I’ve had 3 days off (total) since June.

Ugh.

I’m getting crazy withdrawal from not visiting any thrift stores in over a month. When is September coming again? Oh man, this is going to be a lllllloooooonnnnggggg summer.

Yes?

A pair of pendants for the pink bathroom? Installed on either side of the sink? Paired with this? On the ceiling?

Yes?

Lighting is hard.
