Living room

Friday, April 17th, 2009

The built-in project must be over since I have crap on my sparkling new shelves. It is really nice to unpack some of my books and give them a proper home. This of course won’t be the finally vignetting as I like to switch things up all the time. I always collect more crap for the house so things always shift. Its a start though…

Some close-up action for your viewing delight. I LOVE these new shelves. They’ve solved the year long unhappiness I’ve had with that wasted space under the windows. It makes me feel all fuzzy and warm when I go in the living room…sigh.

Its sure is starting to look like a real fancy house! Our delivery girl confirmed, “It’s so nice in here”. Thanks honey, I know it totally looks like a shit-hole from the outside.

Kitchen

The new kitchen bar is coming along with the addition of my recently found Bertoia chairs. I just picked up a set of six that need some love, but for the price they were a steal. The other four will go on the patio right outside the kitchen.

Whats that lovely art you say? Above the awesome open storage? Oh yeah…

Spagat!

This lovely clown photo was the best of a stack of clown head shots from the seventies that I bought at a local Angel View Thrift. With a snazzy frame fom Target it looks like art.

He’s so drunk!

Here is a close up of my stuff on shelves. It will change…it always does…

**Maya – I finally got it! My very own Blabbermouth radio!

Exterior

Over a year ago, when we first did our inspection – this is what the front of the house looked like…

And now?

It looks worse.

Here it is before the primed deck area. The boy has finished a lot of the priming…the only good thing to come out of unemployment.

This is all just primer and not the actual paint color…I know…it looks awful. Oh and that walkway? Its getting torn out, so I’m not sure why he primed it. I guess to just prime unnecessarily, or maybe to get rid of the maroon. We hate maroon.

*Good god we need a new roof. How do people pay for that?

I have plans for painting which include gray, yellow, and black in various shades with cedar slat sun screen on the front porch. Something like this, but cedar, and on the front porch, and not on wheels…

Or maybe just cover the whole house in slats and no would ever have to look at this eyesore again.

Suggestions? Anyone? Plllllleeeeaaassseee?

What is the perfect exterior light gray?

I’m feeling really depressed and unmotivated at this point and have been through literally 35 tester colors with no success.

Stupid brick house.

Blech.
