Black Bathroom

If I had cash for a real remodel I would definitely go all black and white in the pink bathroom.
Black penny rounds would go everywhere on the floors and lovely white subway tiles all over the walls. Its a classic look but still modern with a totally great retro flair.
Remodelista has a great round-up of black tile that is making me crazy.
Stupid pepto pink tiles. I know some folks really adore them – I thought they were cute too when we first moved in.
Now…not so much.
They aren’t like cute fun baby kitty pink, they are like beige molting pink and always remind me of sickly feverish flesh. Some of the tiles are cracked and most are not in great shape. I know when we go to resale the house that bathroom might be a BIG issue.
Pink Bathroom

Yup. That is chunks of my bathroom wall falling off.
It is officially starting and I hate this part. The messy gross ugly part.
The pink is staying. We can’t afford a total rip-it-out to the studs and replace it all remodel. So, we are doing an aesthetic renovation. Changing a few minor things, painting, new lights, new hardware type of deal. Its like an HGTV show, except for hopefully not as blandly and poorly designed.
We are doing it cheap and simple. Lots of labor and lots of pink tile staying here forever…
