On the vintage shopping rounds I also picked up this vintage painting of a sassy pink lady at the Goodwill. She watches over the computer and den with her monochromatic steely gaze.
What a sweater kitten. Meow.

I found a great mid century Rimini Blu penguin designed by Aldo Londi for Bitossi at Vintage Collective in Long Beach. I’ve always really loved the gorgeous glaze color and geometric embossed patterns of Bitossi ceramics. Usually these are out of my price range, but this little guy only ran $40. Although this seems like a bit of a splurge for an 8″ ceramic penguin its actually a pretty decent price – especially at a hardcore vintage store. Other Bitossi pieces scattered around other vintage stores we visited ran about $150. Yikes!
He’s my first Rimini Blu piece and probably not the last. Hopefully he will prove less controversial than the unfinished bookcase door project…
