Guest Bedroom Inspiration

Tuesday, October 20th, 2009

Don’t mind all this, just trying to decide which way to go decor-wise with the guest bedroom.

You’ve seen these pics around before – I know, I know. I was just going through my DESIGN! folder and pulling some of the bedrooms that jumped out at me. Apologies for the lack of links, I’m woefully unorganized.

I think this time we might try and “design” the guest bedroom ahead of time instead of just winging it and throwing shiz together, hoping it works out – remember the master bedroom debacle? (“design” means a pathetic attempt at a mood board and all those annoying designy trimmings). I have a feeling there might be a dark paint color going up on the walls. Navy or black perchance?

Color. So Very Scary.

Thrifty! Readers

Mitra!

Megan!

A couple of Brick House readers emailed in some recent thrifting finds from their respective Salvation Army stores. I think these Thrifty! Reader finds cap off a week full of thriftiness super nice. Oh yeah.

Mitra picked up a pair of horse head bookends for $2 and proceeded to spray them a glossy white. Sexiness, I do declare. Of course I do dig on some sassy spray painted thrifted bookends.

Megan hands down wins the Thrifty! war this week. She picked up a GORGEOUS Franco Albini ottoman from her local Salvation Army for only $30. Bitch.

So jealous. SO JEALOUS!

Congrats Mitra and Megan on living the thrifting dream. If anyone else has a Thrifty! story, email a pic on down to The Brick House – I’d love to ogle your goods…

DIY Shelf

Check it out!

Another Ace Hotel inspired shelving unit from the blog Ascot Friday. I’m going to take a little credit for inspiring this awesome project, you know, cause I’m just a bit of a narcissist. She did a great job, it looks so very lovely and is super budget friendly. Anyone can really do this pretty simply.

What really peaked my interest is that rad typography poster.

Looks like it’s the new OLUNDA poster from Ikea. I have to admit it’s the first print from Ikea I’ve ever really considered buying. Now I’ve got to see it in person…
