I picked up this jaunty mid century still life at the Goodwill for $7.99. I really like the color scheme and the quick and fresh way the objects are painted against the nuetral brushy background. It’s signed McCaine – but no I don’t think its one of John’s. Oh wait there is an extra E…nevermind it couldn’t possibly be.

Its chilling in the living room for now.

I really got to stop buying art…I have STACKS littered around the house and shoved in closets. Art is one thing I really can’t resist.

The Boy finally has his sports lounger.

He can watch (the Lakers?) in comfort from this fabulous Eames lounge chair reproduction. Don’t mind the ugly hole in the wall behind it…still working on that project.

It is one of the better reproductions I’ve seen around – super low, wide and comfy with a great five star base. There are some problems with the upholstery around the bottom seat buttons and some separation at the seams on the armrests, but otherwise its in really good shape.

Even Iggy enjoys watching sports from it. I enjoy watching The Venture Bros. from its deep squishy embrace in true super science style.

This chair wasn’t a thrift store find. We actually picked it up off of Craigslist from a cute couple in Palm Springs who were very reluctant to leave their pool to haggle about a chair and let me take it for $50.

Yup, this is my new Laurel Lamp.

Holla!

I saw this lamp at the large and kind of strange Estate Sale Company a month or more ago and loved it but sure didn’t love the price. I couldn’t stop thinking about how I had never seen an all brass Laurel floor lamp like this and how I love brass and how I want a Laurel lamp…then I desperately wanted it to be mine.

We stopped by to check out the wares this weekend and I had really no hope it would still be there. I was looking up at the ceiling chandeliers and ran smack into this large fake palm tree. When I looked down – there she was – hiding behind a bunch of big dusty plastic leafs.

Well I guess after 30 days they discount items and are more willing to negotiate prices. It cost me a large Dr. Pepper and a few kinky winks and I got this baby in my price range.

At the same time I was trying to flirt my way into a cheapening a pair of Ben Seibel bookends ($60 each! WTF?) Maya totally scored an amazing Artemide Nesso light…like this one below but gray! It is in PERFECT shape and was a complete steal.
