Rejuvenation, Making it Home

May 19th, 2009

OMG guys.

270 votes. I’m in second place!

Retro Renovation just featured three of us who entered the Rejuvenation Make Your Home Your Own contest. I have smashed the Housewives of Orange County kitchen and the Home Depot bathroom. Even the guy in the tub.

This is now the bathroom to beat:

Ok – I just can’t help myself…

What have I always put on my “dream” list?

The Butterfly Chair.

Maya walked into the thrift store as I locked up the car. When I opened the door all I heard was MORGAN!

There they were. A pair. Vintage butterfly chairs.

Maya was sitting in one and said “I’m not getting up until you buy these”. We ended up each buying one chair. They were a bit pricey for thrift store fair…but its Palm Springs. These bitches know what they got.

It desperately needs a new sling. Caramel brown leather perhaps?

OK. It worked.

A vintage dealer once told me that sometimes you go thrifting and it is somehow magically your day and everything amazing is just waiting there especially for you. Well this Saturday was my MOTHERF*ING day.

Actually it was my friend Maya’s and my big blow out Palm Springs thrifting extravaganza before she heads out to New York – permanently. And we did it with a bang.

So I am going to parcel out the amazing things we found all this week instead of doing one big thrifty post. Seriously – they deserve their own space.

I’m calling him “The Magician”. Maya calls him “John Cleese”.
