Viva Laughlin

I was so inspired by the shortly lived musical-drama Viva Laughlin that I’ve decided to take a little 3 day vacation to that very same city. Boats, gambling, novelty drinks and the trashiest little town in the world – here I come!

I hope there will be a lot of singing of bad 80’s songs, dancing and jumping on gaming tables.

BTW – I’ve gone to Laughlin for years (and LOVE it) – and this picture above is the only time I’ve ever seen someone in that town wear a suit – let alone a shirt with sleeves. Oh and no cocktail waitress in any of the casinos is below the age of 65. That is why Viva Laughlin was so unsuccessful, it was completely taking for granted the charm and filth that is that city…maybe I’ll find something amazingly trashy for the house!

Now below is realistically along the lines of what to expect. Good times.

Thrifty!

I’ve been thrifting here and there recently and picking up a few small things along the way.

Hemet Hospice – 3 vintage Fiestaware bowls. Medium green and awesome.

Hemet Hospice Thrift – Large vintage ashtray. Good for you and 8 friends.
I use all the vintage ashtrays I find for different things: coasters, jewelery holders, mail, keys, oh and for smoking.

Veteran’s Thrift – Vintage strawberry planter and other assorted planters.

Salvation Army – Faux brass bamboo hanger thing. I think I might use it in the bathroom…

Salvation Army – vintage Swedish bird planter thing. LOVE it.

Salvation Army – Monkey door stopper. Totally heavy – it would be better if he smoked.

Woman’s Guild – little vintage cane ottoman. I think I might spray paint it to go in the pink bathroom to use as a little bath table. I’m not sure what color…

Hemet Hospice Thrift – Two trophy’s. I really feel like a champ!

Salvation Army – pair of Brown Saltman occasional tables. I found the same ones on 1st dibs! And at Darrell Dean Antiques for $1800! And on Ebay!

AWESOME.
